Event Description: A marathon distance running relay with your friends! Complete 26.2 miles with 1 or 2 of your favorite running buddies (or someone you just met). The course is a 3 loop course that starts, ends and exchanges all in the same spot. The Atlantic Ocean is nearby the entire time, breathe in that salt air and breathe out all of your worries. The loop course came about due to permitting restrictions in 2020 and ended up being a huge hit. No worrying about driving to each exchange, less sidewalk and more shade. Not to mention the added feel of an event by being in the same transition area all day with all of the other runners!
How does the relay work? Create your team of 2-3 runners, decide who will run when, (come up with costumes?), and run a marathon, relay style! One person from each team runs at a time, the others hang out in the transition area recovering, relaxing and making memories with everyone around. Then comes the hand off to the next runner. Repeat cheering, support, good times. Keep up this relay style running for 26.2 miles until your adventure concludes at the finish line party. Collect your hard earned finishers gift, have a drink, eat some food.
*Start times will be assigned to teams based on average team pace. Teams must have all runners added to their team page online before their start time can be assigned.
6k Info: Come out and run 3.7 miles through the beautiful Mala Compra Trails. The course is a loop, which starts and ends at the Hammock Community Center. Most of the course is on a hard packed trail & boardwalk, the rest on sidewalk along A1A and Mala Compra Rd. 6k runners run loop 2 once (see below).
6k Runners/Walkers receive a tech shirt, finishers medal, mimosa, fruit at the finish line and awards for the top 3 males, females & top masters. More award categories will be added if attendance dictates.

Course description for relay teams:
Why a loop course? Sounds boring. If you've never run a loop course, especially a relay, I can understand your hesitations. I felt the same way before my first loop course relay. Now, I love it and it's one of my favorite race formats. It's really nice to not have to worry about driving from one exchange to the next. It's also super fun to be in the same location with the other teams. It adds to the feel of the event, cheering everyone in as they come in and out of the exchange. At our inagural event in June everyone loved the format and suggested to keep it that way in the future.

Runner Testimonials:
The relay race was absolutely awesome! It was so much fun! I actually loved the loop format for many reasons. The course was varied and very shady, and it was also fun to visit with and cheer on the other teams. My friend, Stacy that ran with us was saying the same thing. She was raving about it to some friends just the other day.-Sheila
Was so much fun. Thanks again for such a great event.-Kirsten
We loved the format. Being able to hang out in one spot all day was such a treat. It was a great experience for us. So happy to have these local races to appreciate the beauty that is Flagler County. -Stacey
